j’ai des soucis pour l’installation de Magento 1.4.1.0 avec WampServer 2.0. Je dispose de Apache 2.2.11, php en 5.3.0, et mySQl en 5.1.36.
J’arrive pas à accéder au create Admin Account!!
Sous Safari, voici le message d’erreur “Trop de redirections sont survenues en tentant d’ouvrir « http://localhost/magento/index.php/install/ ». Ceci peut se produire lorsque vous ouvrez une page qui est redirigée vers une autre page laquelle se redirige à son tour vers la page originale.”.
Sous firefox, voici le message d’erreurs : “Firefox a détecté que le serveur redirige la demande pour cette adresse d’une manière qui n’aboutira pas.La cause de ce problème peut être la désactivation ou le refus des cookies.”
Alors que tous mes cookies sont activés.
Sous IE, je reste bloquer sur la page “Configuration”

I installed version 1.4 “successfully” on my server. Means, I got to the point “You’re All Set!” with two links. One to the front-end, one to the back-end.
But, when trying to open front or back-end I get the following error:
Fatal error: Call to a member function extend() on a non-object in /srv/www/web0/html/app/code/core/Mage/Core/Model/Mysql4/Config.php on line 115
Can anybody help me? I really do not know what I can try.
I tested magento 1.3 some month ago and it worked. When I opened it after month I got the first Magnto page, but 404 errors at every further click. It was only a test install, so I deleted it completely (also database) and installed fresh 1.4

Je suis arrivé au bout de ma configuration de Magento. Je peux accéder à mon frontend et mon backend. Mais j’ai un problème pour me logger avec mon User name/password. Je lui rentre le bon log/pass et il ne se passe rien. Lorsque je leui rentre un mauvais log/pass, il me retourne “Invalid username or Password”. c

I organized my csv file to upload my products onto the magento. Products are there but the pics didnt. I uploaded the pics to my media folder aswell, but cant find away to find them on magento. Can someone please give me a step by step way to upload my photos along with the products. I’m dealing with over 10,000 products and uploading them one by one is insane!! I’m new to this but i do learn fast, i got this far. Thanks alot to who helps out with this problem.

I have installed this carousel pluginhttp://www.magentocommerce.com/magento-connect/EcommerceTeam/extension/3864/products_carousel
Now when i click on the plugin in the admin area i get a white field at the right side of the admin panel.
So i cannot change the settings. They are not visible. (see attachment)Anyone an idea how to solve this?

Install seemed to go great. Admin working great. I test being a customer and I can’t create and account. I fill out all the info and it just goes nowhere at all. I disabled validating sessions. I also disabled the use HTTP only that I read about. I’m not sure what else to do. It’s probably something simple, I just can’t find anything here about what. I’m hosted on dreamhost, and they don’t use anything “localhost” so I don’t think those issues apply. I also enabled url rewrites. Could someone help or point me in the right direction? Thank you so much in advance! This is my first time working with magento so I’m learning a lot. Possibly there is something I am missing in the system>configuration area?

I have problem with the position of the main product image box. I have edited the styles.css in my template folder as well as the defualt folder, but some product images appear what i want them and other product images sit lower on the product page. It’s almost a guessing game as to which one looks properly. Has anyone else encountered this? Any suggestions on how to fix it would be greatly appreciated.

I have a magentoshop which I want to modify, I have succeed to download the front site with software called Kompozer; afterwards iv manged to change the html files that needed changes. But when even I try to upload the modified site nothings happens ( I simple cant locate my html files) . I have also tried to do the same with dreamweaver and with the same disappointing result. My question to you guys is where do I locate the html files and how do I make changes to them ? I have also managed to download the entire site to view look but to no avail.

I created a custom grid (based on catalog_product_grid). This grid is loaded by an Ajax call like so many other grids in the backend.
And when i load the grid without massAction functionality there is no problem. But as soon as i enable massAction a lot of funky stuff starts happening (javascript errors, duplicate grids).
I couldn’t find an example of a massAction grid loaded by an Ajax call. And i wonder if this is possible at all?

I have a little problem with adding a discount to an order. Before I should tell you more about the requirements.
Every customer can add several products to his cart. In each category are same types of products. So now if you add one product it costs you the normal price (lets say 20 dollars). So the customer can add then different other products from the same category and the requirement is now, that it wont higher the price until you have four products of the same category in the cart.

We are changing the order view in the back end to display a response key. The key is saved in the database as part of the order taking process.
I developed my code to display the value in the Mage classes so I could get everything to work without having to deal with the config.xml files. I have it working and now need to pull it out of the Mage classes and put it in my own module.
The module is created and I have the following in the config.xml of my module: The problem is it does not seem to be loading my new block in place of the old. I know this because in my block I have entry and exit trace log calls, and these are not showing up in my trace log.
I found this link among many others that show how to do this. At the top this one says it has been deprecated because this is not how it should be done on the current version of Magento. So, is there any documentation on how it should be done on the current version of Magento? I know documentation and Magento don’t really belong in the same sentence but I thought I would see if anyone had anything.

I\’ve built a new theme for a store; the theme includes an embedded \”mini login box\” as described in http://www.magentocommerce.com/boards/member/52063/ . It works fine; the only problem is that error messages produced by incorrect login attempts do not appear on the home page following the incorrect login. Rather, they appear when I go to another page on the store site, like customer/account/create/ . My first guess was that, in constructing my theme, I cut something out of my theme\’s version of template/page/3columns.phtml (the template for the store\’s home page), but I\’ve checked that and everything\’s there—I moved a few things around, but the calls to getChildHtml(\’global_notices\’) and getChildHtml(\’global_messages\’), one of which I\’m guessing is responsible for displaying those sorts of messages, are both present.

I have a fairly standard magento menu built from the categories however i dont wish to add all my products to the parent category as its a bit unusuall for any ecommerce site to do that. I currently have a parent category displaying a load of thumbnails for each sub category.
What i would rather do is disable the links on parent categories so only categories with products will have links. Infact a simpler solution would to have the menu only link to that category if it actually had content.
I assume unfortunatly i will manually have to edit the drawItem method or is there a way of overriding its behavior?

I’d like to get a product’s custom options via PHP, and I’m not entirely sure how. I can load a product this way (assuming $_item is an item object): I read on a site that this should tell you whether a product has custom options: However, that is returning false for an item that I know has custom options. I also found this function call, which sounds like it should return options: However, that returns a huge array rather than just custom options.
How can I retrieve just the custom options of a product in Magento via PHP?

the function call geturl seems to only load pages that are in the mengento system.
I would like to know what function or what code to use to call/load a web page that is on another site

I create one custom module and done packaging from magento extension.package extension generate two files one is package.xml

and one . module name.sar. after that when I try to upload that xml file on magento community its show error

I’ve got the following problem. I was working on magneto store under a certain domain. After finishing I wanted
to move the whole store to another sever with a different domain name and slightly different folders structure.
I’ve read a few faqs about how to move the store and I think I followed all the advices correctly. That is. I copied
all the files to the new server. I cleared tha cache and sessions folders. I dumped the database, changed base_url and
secure_url
to the new values. I changed the configuration data in local.xml and truncated the log_* tables in the database.
After doing all this when I try to log in into admin panel I have a few “access denied” messages starting with the dashboard.
When I try to access the dashboard I get the error message shown below. When I manually change the url to say ‘system’
I can browse through catalog, clients and so on but can’t access configuration, cache management and some other.
I can’t see ‘sales’ menu as well. When I reset admin role to “All” everything stays the same. When I choose permissions
manually
I still don’t see sales and can’t access the dashboard but for ex. can enter to configuration menu.
Any suggestions? Looks like some permissions were lost. I tried to do the same on my local server at home and get the same
effect.

Not sure if it’s the right forum, so I appreciate you farward me to the right one if needed.
anyway, I know magento can accept CC numbers, I mean the “save” option. does that mean that it’s going into the DB and then I

need to charge my costumers one by one manually with those details? if the CC numbers are saves in the DB, it’s pretty

unsafe, how do you solve that?
this birngs me to my next question, I know there are CC modules for various CC companies. why do you need them, if magento

has a built in option for accepting CCs?

I currently have multiple products on multiple categories, when i click on each category, the products are sorted by

“Manufacture” in alphabetical order. I also have the “Manufacture” filter on the left panel allowing customers to narrow

down to specific manufacture. The category page also has a drop down, allowing customer to sort by name, price, color.
Each category contains multiple manufacture with many products. By default, the default category page only filters the

product listing by one sorting filter.
It is possible to have the category page display a list of products sorting by manufacture then price.

I’m trying to show the latest cart information in my header using custom template files.
I’m trying to use the following: But when I enable the cache “Blocks HTML output” and I add a new item. The cart doesnt

update untill I refresh the cache
It is not just the quantity of the cart, but there is an whole checkout inside of this header.
As I trying to explain, the attribute “false” inside the getChildHtml doesn’t work for me.

I have changed the URL of a category from URLa.htm to URLb.htm. Then I decided that I want to use URLa.htm again instead of

URLb.htm.
However, when I change the page name, Magento changes the url to URLa-1.htm.
