– We’re testing out Megento as a possible replacement for our current cart and we need the following functionality. I don’t see the following features available in Magento. Please advise if they are. If not we are looking for someone to quote them (hopefully as an extension module) for us as they are show stoppers for converting to Magento.

INVENTORY
Ability to track inventory by attribute, i.e. We have 7 Blue blankets and 9 Red blankets.

SHIPPING
Ability to set Shipping Origin (Zip) by product. We have some products on-hand and will ship from zip code 11111 we have other products that are drop shipped from say zip code 22222. We need to be able to set the origin zip code for a product and have it calculate shipping based on that.

Ability to limit the shipping methods by product. For products we have on-hand we might offer US Postal (USPS) but from some drop shipped items they might be shipped by UPS.

The shipping calculations need to bundle by origin zip code. So if there are two products: Product A (1 LB) and Product B (2 LB) and those are both being shipped from zip code 11111, then the shipping weight is 3 LBs.

Here’s an example order:
Order #1
- Product A, 1 LB, Ships from 11111
- Product B, 2 LB, Ships from 11111
- Product C, 1 LB, Ships from 22222

I’m trying to upgrade Magento to 1.2.0 from 1.1.8. I’m using the Connect Manager, but I’m not seeing how to upgrade. I found this blog article:

i need a help.. i tried to search for this, but unable to find a solution.

I have added some pages and the links will appear along with the top navigational menu(to the right).

i need to make the links active when the page is taken…

it works, but fails when the url is esso/hosting (as u all know, the page can be viewed either by giving the url site/index.php/yourpage or site/yourpage)

Hope many will be facing this challenge.. if someone has found a solution, please share with us.

I just upgraded my shop and now it is impossible to get to the admin section.

When i login i get forwarded to the front page.

upgrade using Mage_All_Latest tag with the cache disable
settings are set to Stable
I have Improved_Search module installed as well as languages module installed

I tested with removing Improved_Search before upgrading, but I have the same exception. ( full PDO exception attached )

I’ve upgraded from 1.1.7 to 1.1.8, and now can not add images to my products. I’ve not had this problem before, and have been actively using this since 1.1.6. When I get to the Images tab in the Products screen, where it used to say ‘Browse Files’ is now just a gray box. Everything else seems to be working (after several fixes after the 1.1.8 upgrade) except this issue.

The Media directory is set to 777 permissions . . . I’m just at a loss as to what to do next. Any suggestions?

All seemed fine till customers started reporting to me that there was major issues with not being able to login.

Now it looks like all my passwords arent right anymore. I can’t send new passwords because they dont work either!!

when switching store views into e.g. different languages and filtering by category in the ‘shop by’ box, the default store text appears next to the [X] to deselect the filter.

This is problematic as on a fully translated site, the default (english) category descriptions appear after selecting a translated store category.

I’m using Magneto 1.1.6 and trying to upgrade using Magneto Connect. I dont see where there is an upgrade option?

Perhaps I’m not very smart and was hoping someone would point out where I upgrade to 1.1.8

I installed v1.14 in September and have tried several times to update in Magento connect since then with no success. Even installing extensions does not work. In Magento connect the extensions show that they have been installed, the site works great but nothing happens in the admin. It still shows v1.14 and no extensions added.
What am I doing wrong?

I’m testing Magento on a test server with a few configurable products (shirts) with style (women, unisex) and sizes (S,M,L,XL) attributes. The product attributes work great but I have one little thing I can’t figure out or maybe Magento doesn’t do it.

I set the women XL inventory to zero to test it out and sure enough it doesn’t appear as an attribute option in the dropdown. It there a way to show the attributes in question to user as out of stock? My issue is that I want to make sure they know this attributes option is something we do carry. While this isn’t really an issue with, say, a medium shirt, a customer coming in for a 3XL shirt and only seeing S M L XL 2XL might just assume we don’t carry 3XL and never come back (or sign up for a notification list, etc).

I’ve tried various settings in the simple product (eg Women XL) inventory area and in the global inventory settings in the system section but I can’t seem to get around that if the inventory equals zero then the option doesn’t “exist” to the user.

I’d like to add the stock quantity (or at least an “item is in stock” status indicator) to the “select products to add” table in the Create Order section of the admin area. I suspect this isn’t too difficult to do, but I can’t seem to find which template file controls that table. Any assistance will be much appreciated.

I could do that with a new category for offers, but there must be an automated process to find products with special price…

I apologize in advance for asking a question that has been answered before. However, when I tried to follow instructions contained in other posts, I either received server errors or they simply did not work.

So the question is this:

I have a template called “Greyline” in a fairly basic installation of Magento.
I have multiple categories and subcategories.
I would like the menu to display the subcategories as drop downs.

Really as simple as that.

If I need to use some sort of suckerfish menu (superfish in my case), where do I install the various parts and where do I change the html and css for the template?

We would like to have a separate site-section where we are able to list products from “affiliated Partners”. These products should not be added to the shopping basket but instead have an external link that leads to the Partners Website/Product.

I changed my product view page to a one column layout, but now when a customer presses “add review” it defaults back to the 2 column right template.

Any one know where that file is being called from? I need to change that to a one column layout as well.
