Has anyone noticed with the OPC with 1.1.6 that it is not retrieving the shipping methods UNLESS you get a quote on the checkout page before proceeding to the OPC?

Any ideas as to what is causing this and how to fix it?

**UPDATED TO CRITICAL BUG – AS OF 3-26-09: Magento according to Client is not accurately calculating tax and not compliant with tax law

This is affecting currently all versions of Magento (1.0 thru 1.2.x)

I think this hasn’t gotten much attention because its somewhat hard to understand and many online store owners aren’t familiar with how traditional cash register’s / tax calculation works. .. Let me clarify this bug which again applies to all versions of Magento:

Bottomline:

WHAT IS HAPPENING NOW: Magento is taxing products individually, rounding the tax and then adding the tax and making it the Total Tax

Item price * Tax Rate = rounded(Tax)
Item price * Tax Rate = rounded(Tax)
Item price * Tax Rate = rounded(Tax)
Item price * Tax Rate = rounded(Tax)

Total tax is the sum total of all the rounded taxes.. BUT rounding shouldn’t happen per item

IT SHOULD BE: Calculating tax based on the subtotal (of taxable products), then rounding the total tax and adding that to the grand total

= rounded(Total Tax for the Order)

SO HOW DOES IT AFFECT MY STORE?: Result is your customers are being charged more/less tax than they should be charged.

OTHER RELATED ISSUES: This is also what is happening with discounts.. stay tuned for another post on this.. but it appears this issue is related to how discounts are being calculated.

I updated my Magento to 1.16,all looks good ,,but Invoice still can’t be printed ..

Once I click the button of “PRINT”,,there will be a blank page ..no eror notification of my IE7.

The title says it all.. when will Table Rate shipping with Google Checkout finally get fixed in Magento?

I hit GOOGLE CHECKOUT and shipping is at 0 as always..

Serge at Varien was working on a solution and tracked the bugs down, promised a fix would be included in the next release, yet here it is and it STILL does not work.. this is a CRUCIAL FUNDAMENTAL feature, which should get very high priority!

Has anyone gotten this to work?!

I know this is a popular topic, which given its popularity suggests that it needs looking at.

I have a little over 3700 products that I have successfully imported via an CSV file including all other relevant data such as categories etc…

I now wish to populate my CSV file with the relevant image/s. Initially there is only one image for each product and 80% of the images are sharing the same filename as the sku #.

Now I hitting a brick wall trying to get these images to display on the main store. I have uploaded images directly into the media/catalog/products folder as per the the images that have been placed on the site manually and I have uploaded the images into the media/import section.

Neither way is showing any images. Can someone help guide in the right direction?

I’ve been at a work stoppage because of this issue for a couple of weeks. After monitoring the community, I realized I’m not alone in this hole (at least three other members have run into a similar roadblock)

That’s why I think there’s potential for a viable developer’s challenge.

The basic problem is that we can’t add a custom option (with a price associated with it) that’s independent of quantity. In other words, I want customers to add a customization option that’s added to the order once, not to each product a customer purchases. This is an issue that prevents Magento from being used in many customized product applications.

Possible solution paths:
1) Add a third option to the “Price Type” drop down in “Custom Options.” This new price type would be added to the total price (instead of being multiplied by the Qty) before moving to cart.
2) Allow configurable products to be grouped together. Or allow simple products with custom options to be grouped together. I hear this is in the works, but timing is unknown.
3) Add a surcharge feature in price rules

I’m willing to contribute $ to an open source solution… any contributors/takers?

I have a problem with magento connect, here’s the symptoms:

Connect, shows the updates available and everything.
Seems to update, but when i hit refresh the installed packages versions stays the same, and its still telling updates are available.
The version number in the admin section is updated.

So I did check with SSH and pear said that indeed nothing was updated, so i did run “./pear upgrade-all stable”, and everything did update properly.

I guess there is something with permissions that needs to be changed, but I don’t know where to start…
